DIVINE ANIMALS COMMUNICATE DIVINE MESSAGES

My experiences with all animals, especially horses, has carved my own unique connection with the Divine. How else can God speak to us if not through His nature and creatures?

Last week’s blog explored becoming one with your horse. It is precisely in this “oneness of being” that I have found God, and developed a personal, intimate connection to the unseen. There is such richness in this connection yet the “getting there” is what many people fail to even try. That’s because the “getting there” means slowing down, being quiet, listening and looking for the unheard and unseen. It takes both discipline and letting go, and it’s probably the most important thing I teach in my clinics.

Because we are taught and encouraged to live life at a whirlwind pace, the idea of slowing down and sitting in a pasture “doing nothing” might seem ludicrous to some, yet it is precisely that practice – performed over and over again – that will bring you to the door of an out-of-this-world experience and closer to the Divine.

Not everyone is cut out for the rigors of developing a deep connection with horses, but for those brave enough to try, the rewards are powerful. If you consider yourself a “daredevil” or you’re intensely curious, then you’re in for the ride of a lifetime (no pun intended!). In fact, repeatedly in clinics I have seen what I refer to as “the magic”: these are God moments that take your breath away. They start out as “ah-has” and slowly develop into that intimate knowing of your horse, his being, and his Creator.

Many of you know the story of my horse Gramsey who broke her ankle and pleaded with me to “give her a chance” when three vets deemed that euthanasia was the only option. Gramsey is still with me today, and you can read this amazing story in the Courage blog (link below).  That was my first experience with both animal communication and touching the Divine. I have so many more astonishing experiences to share, and they are the reason I continue to write my blogs.

Most recently I buried my 40-year-old horse BlackJack (see the blog, link below). I was sitting in contemplation at his grave when BlackJack suddenly communicated that from now on, I was to refer to him as Saint BlackJack. A feeling welled up in my heart and I thought it would burst. It was clearly him and although I do miss his physical presence greatly, I know I can simply get quiet and my thoughts alone will connect us through our souls. I think Rumi expresses it best in his poem, A Great Wagon.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,

there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

the world is too full to talk about.

Ideas, language, even the phrase “each other”

doesn’t make any sense.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don’t go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.

Don’t go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill

where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open

Don’t go back to sleep.”

Horses can take us through that door and transport us between worlds. “The door is round and open”. This is what I mean when I say divine animals communicate divine messages. The good news is that this experience is available to all.  When we venture into the world of energy anything is possible. Learning to listen and be with horses opens us to hear the silent communication that brings us closer to the Divine.

Over the years I’ve heard people refer to me as having a “gift,” but I don’t see it that way. That’s because this “gift” of communicating and connecting with animals is present in every human! My “gift,” is the honor of helping people -- people who crave such a connection with their horse, the mystery, and the Divine but who don’t know where to start or how to find their path. I’ve spent decades exploring and learning ways to build an unbreakable bond with and between horses and humans, and I can take you through the door, if you desire to undertake this wonderful journey for yourself.

Sending love & light,

Linda & The Herd Connection
