Your Inner Voice

When I was a young child, it was such a treat to watch the Wizard of Oz.  Whenever it came on television, I was allowed to stay up beyond my normal bedtime in honor of this special occasion.  How well I remember watching as Glenda (the good witch) proceeds to tell Dorothy that she already has all the answers for any questions that she will ever have and that she only needs to look within.  This is merely the stuff of fairytales, RIGHT?

Strangely, or maybe not so strangely, as an adult with a lifetime of personal experiences, I believe more readily than ever in the wisdom of Glenda’s fairytale message that everything we need to know is truly already within us.  When we are deeply embodied within ourselves, we can hear our own inner voice.  It has been and always will be within us.  The only obstacle that stands between us and our inner knowing is mental chatter.  Have you ever wondered where this chatter comes from as you participate in these mental conversations that take place so often throughout the day?  Who are we talking to?  I do know one thing above all else, our inner wisdom comes not from the head, but from the HEART!  Our inner voice has been speaking to us all along, but until we are ready and able to hear and trust it (above the mental chatter), we will not be able to reach our highest potential.

Animals often provide the gateway which allows us to hear our own inner voice.  Animals do not concern themselves with mental chatter as humans do.  Through our desire to communicate with animals, we learn to silence our inner chatter and speak to them from our hearts.  This communication flows easily and naturally due to our love and compassion for them.  Everything we need IS indeed within us.  Thankfully, our beautiful animals are ready and willing to help us reach our highest human potential.  As always, we have a lot to learn from them!

Have a great rest of the week as you feel that heart connection with your animals and take ownership of the wisdom that resides within YOU!
